Give Your Car a Better-Than-New Shine
What is Paint Correction?
Paint correction is a professional machine polishing process that removes defects from your vehicle’s paint, such as:
- Swirl marks & fine scratches
- Oxidation & dull paint
- Water spots & etching
- Holograms & buffer trails
Our auto paint correction process enhances your car’s finish, unlocking the deep gloss and shine hidden beneath the imperfections in your vehicle’s paint.
In many cases, our paint correction in Calgary can create a better-than-new shine and give you that mirror-like finish that vehicle owners are looking for. When you purchase a new vehicle, it’s already been down the road, on a trailer, and covered in protective paper that may have marred your paint.
With that in mind, even brand-new vehicles often need paint correction as the journey from the factory to the dealership can damage a vehicle’s exterior more than you would think.
Scratches and swirl marks are really just little dips in the paint that are visible with the way that light reflects off of the surface. Check out the info graphic below to get an idea of how they are seen on the exterior of your vehicle.
Unless you’re going to repaint your vehicle or a panel with scratches and swirl marks, the only way to repair them is to polish them out. The process of paint correction is known as a “cut and polish” because the detailer performing the paint correction is “cutting” down the paint on your vehicle to even out the scratches and swirl marks, meaning that light is no longer reflecting off of them, removing their appearance on the surface.
Our paint correction experts always use a micrometer to determine how much of a “cut” can be safely executed to smooth out imperfections and ensure the longevity of the paint and exterior surfaces on your vehicle.
The team at SPS Calgary has over 20 years of paint correction experience and delivering exceptional results for our clients.

Our Paint Correction Process
-
1. Vehicle Inspection
Our paint correction experts will inspect your vehicle and measure your paint/clear coat with a micrometer to determine the best outcome for your vehicle.
-
2. Thorough Hand Wash & Paint Decontamination
Removes dirt, grime, and most of the embedded contaminants.
-
3. Clay Bar Treatment
Ensures the removal of water spots, brake dust, metal dust, industrial pollution, road grit and fallout from your clear coat before polishing.
-
4. Single Stage or Multi-Stage Polishing
Removes swirl marks, scratches, and oxidation by using a high-end Dual Action (DA) polisher or a rotary polisher.
-
5. Finishing Wash/Removal of Polishing Compound
We rinse off your vehicle and use a gentle detergent after polishing to remove any remaining traces of polishing compound then dry the vehicle.
-
6. Final Finish & Protection
We complete a final inspection on the vehicle, ensuring all possible substrates have been corrected and apply a Graphene Sealant – unless you upgrade to one of our PPF, graphene or ceramic coating packages to seal in the finish.
